CHICAGO, IL, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Combining Data-Driven Marketing, Creative Strategy, and Community Leadership to Strengthen Association Engagement and Build Meaningful Connections
Chicago, Illinois — Margaret Wolfe is a Senior Marketing Manager specializing in membership marketing at DRI, where she has built a growing career in association marketing over the past four years. Promoted from Marketing Manager, she leads membership campaigns, digital marketing initiatives, email strategy, and social media engagement while also contributing to broader organizational efforts through DRI’s Center, which supports advocacy and outreach for legal professionals.
Driven by a passion for understanding consumer behavior, Margaret uses data and insights to develop messaging that resonates with target audiences across multiple channels. Her approach combines analytical thinking with creative communication, allowing her to develop marketing strategies designed not only to reach audiences but also to encourage meaningful engagement and strengthen connections between members and the organizations they value.
Margaret earned her Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2017, with minors in Theatre and Gender & Women’s Studies. She later completed her Master’s in Marketing at DePaul University in 2020 while working full-time. Her academic background provided her with a diverse foundation that blends advertising, marketing, communication, creativity, and an understanding of people and culture.
Early in her career, Margaret gained hands-on experience in digital engagement, events, and membership growth through leadership roles in student organizations, including Kellstadt Marketing Group and the Marketing Leaders Community. Her interest in advertising was also influenced by her mother, who worked in marketing and helped spark Margaret’s interest in the field.
Throughout her career, Margaret has been recognized for her leadership and contributions. Her honors include being named a Forty Under 40 honoree by Association Forum, receiving Sigma Kappa’s 35 Under 35 recognition through Sigma Kappa Sorority, and earning multiple professional development scholarships through ASAE. Among these accomplishments, Margaret is especially proud of her recognition from Association Forum for her contributions to the association marketing field.
Margaret attributes much of her success to her parents, whom she describes as incredibly successful and amazing people who have provided an example she wants to honor through her own career.
She often jokes that she has “some big shadows to fill,” because of the legacy her parents are leaving behind. Her mother was an influential pioneer in advertising, which played a significant role in Margaret’s decision to pursue the field. She was involved in developing much of the family’s direct-mail work and provided Margaret with an early understanding of the possibilities within marketing and advertising.
Her father brought a different but equally important influence. Highly skilled with math and numbers, he managed the financial side of the family’s advertising agency, which her parents ran throughout Margaret’s childhood. He was also deeply involved in the community. Margaret recalls joking that when she walked down the street as a child, people would recognize her long before she recognized them because her father seemed to know everyone.
Together, her parents provided Margaret with an example of professional commitment, community involvement, and personal connection. She credits them with inspiring the person and professional she is today. Her husband has also been an important source of encouragement, serving as an “amazing cheerleader” throughout her journey.
The best career advice Margaret has received centers on self-confidence. She believes professionals need to trust themselves enough to pursue what genuinely interests them because they already possess knowledge, skills, and drive that can serve as the foundation for growth.
For Margaret, trusting herself has often been the final step between having an interest in something and actually moving forward with it. She believes that confidence does not mean having every answer; rather, it means recognizing what you bring to the table and being willing to take the next step.
As a woman working in the association industry, Margaret has also experienced firsthand the value of connecting with other women. She describes the association field as a welcoming space for women and recently attended a women’s forum through Association Forum, an experience she found particularly uplifting.
For women entering the industry, Margaret recommends building relationships with other women and learning from their experiences. Those who have already walked the path can provide knowledge, perspective, encouragement, and information that can help others navigate their own careers. She believes there is tremendous value in women supporting one another and sharing what they have learned along the way.
Looking ahead, Margaret identifies engaging younger generations as one of the most important challenges facing membership-based organizations. From her perspective in membership marketing, organizations must continue exploring new ways to connect with younger audiences and demonstrate the value of belonging.
At the same time, she recognizes the growing questions surrounding artificial intelligence. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into marketing and association environments, Margaret believes the industry must consider not only how the technology can be used, but also where it should be used from both an ethical and moral perspective.
These evolving questions create an opportunity for marketing professionals to think carefully about how technology can support their organizations while maintaining trust and authenticity with members.
At the core of Margaret’s professional and personal philosophy are honesty, integrity, organization, and standing by what she believes in. These values influence how she approaches her work, relationships, and responsibilities, providing a consistent foundation as she continues to grow within the association marketing field.
Her commitment to community extends beyond her professional responsibilities. Margaret is actively engaged in philanthropy and community support, volunteering with organizations including PAWS Chicago, the Greater Chicago Food Depository, and Blessings in a Backpack. Through these efforts, she continues to demonstrate a commitment to contributing beyond the workplace and supporting causes that make a difference in the broader community.
Outside of her career and volunteer work, Margaret is also a marathon runner. Completing the Disney Marathon stands among her most meaningful personal achievements, reflecting the same qualities she brings to her professional life: discipline, organization, determination, and a willingness to pursue challenging goals.
As Margaret Wolfe continues advancing her career in membership marketing, she remains focused on combining data, creativity, and human connection to help organizations better understand and engage their audiences. Her journey reflects the influence of strong mentors and family, the importance of trusting oneself, and the value of creating connections with others.
