OSNER’S FC Welcomes Haitian International Winger Shelove Achelus to Brooklyn

European and South American experience, Haiti U-23 international pedigree and a Caribbean championship highlight the accomplished winger’s arrival at OSNER’S FC

BROOKLYN, NY, UNITED STATES, August 25, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — OSNER’S FC is proud to announce the signing of Shelove Achelus, a Haitian-born professional winger whose football journey has taken him from Haiti to the United States, France, Denmark and Bolivia, before bringing him to Brooklyn for the next chapter of his career.

The addition of Achelus represents a significant reinforcement for OSNER’S FC, adding a technically gifted, internationally experienced attacker to a senior structure competing across NPSL and UPSL Premier, U.S Open Cup, supported by teams in UPSL Division 1 and Division 2.

Born on September 25, 1999, Achelus is primarily an attacking wide player. Published player databases identify him as capable of operating on the left wing, right wing and as a secondary striker, giving OSNER’S FC valuable positional flexibility across the attacking line.

His arrival, however, is about more than strengthening the first team. Achelus will also have an opportunity to contribute to the OSNER’S FC Academy, sharing lessons from a career spanning multiple countries and football cultures with aspiring young players in Brooklyn.

FROM HAITI TO AN INTERNATIONAL PATHWAY

Achelus began his football development in his native Haiti, including formative experience in Gonaïves before progressing into Haiti’s national youth setup.

His development eventually brought him to the United States and Montverde Academy in Florida, an important stage in a journey that would soon take the young Haitian footballer across the Atlantic.

By 2018, Achelus was in France with AC Ajaccio, where he competed primarily with Ajaccio B. Career records document 27 appearances, two goals and two assists for the reserve side, with additional involvement at U-19 level.

For a young player leaving the Caribbean and adapting to European football, the experience demanded considerably more than technical ability. European football required adaptation to new tactical expectations, training intensity, language, culture and professional standards.

Achelus continued that European journey in Denmark.

DENMARK: VIBORG FF AND NÆSTVED BK

In 2019, Achelus moved to Viborg FF, competing in Denmark’s second tier. Historical records show him making 11 league appearances during the 2019–20 season, with further cup involvement, before continuing with the club into 2020–21.

He subsequently joined Næstved BK, extending his experience within Danish football. Career records place his move from Viborg to Næstved in October 2020.

Those years in Europe added an important tactical dimension to his development.

For a winger, playing in structured European environments requires an understanding of much more than attacking one-versus-one situations. Wide attackers must recognize pressing triggers, occupy half-spaces intelligently, understand rotations with fullbacks and midfielders, make runs beyond the defensive line and immediately contribute to counter-pressing when possession changes.

That accumulated experience is one reason OSNER’S FC views Achelus as an important addition.

REPRESENTING HAITI

Achelus’s development also brought international opportunities.

Published statistical records identify him as a Haiti U-23 international, including participation in the 2021 Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship. Statistical records credit him with appearances during Haiti’s Olympic qualifying campaign, another important step in his development as an international footballer.

Representing Haiti adds particular significance to his arrival at OSNER’S FC, a New York City soccer organization whose identity is strongly connected to its Haitian-American heritage.

Yet that heritage is intended as a foundation for inclusion rather than limitation.

OSNER’S FC is building a multicultural organization representative of Brooklyn itself, bringing Haitian, Caribbean, African, Latino, American and other football cultures together through one common language: the game.

CARIBBEAN CHAMPIONSHIP SUCCESS WITH VIOLETTE AC

Achelus eventually returned to Haitian club football and joined Violette AC, where he became part of one of the most significant periods in the historic club’s recent history.

Violette captured the 2022 Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship, earning qualification for the following Concacaf Champions League. Career records credit Achelus with four appearances during that Caribbean championship campaign and list the competition among his career honors.

For OSNER’S FC, championship experience matters.

Players who have been part of successful dressing rooms understand that trophies are rarely produced by talent alone. They require consistency, accountability, preparation, tactical discipline and collective sacrifice.

“Winning changes your understanding of football,” Nazaire said. “When you bring players into the organization who have experienced championship environments, they understand that success is created every day, not simply on match day. Shelove has experienced that, and those standards can benefit our entire group.”

A NEW CHALLENGE IN SOUTH AMERICA

Achelus’s journey subsequently took him to Bolivia, where he joined Real Santa Cruz for the 2023 season and competed in Bolivia’s top flight.

His production there is well documented: 14 league appearances, nine starts, 751 minutes, two goals and one assist in Bolivia’s División Profesional. Across league and cup competition that year, records show 19 appearances and more than 1,000 minutes.

That experience added yet another football culture to his résumé.

From Haiti to France, Denmark and Bolivia, Achelus has been repeatedly required to adapt—and adaptation is itself a valuable professional skill.

Now he brings that experience to New York.

From a tactical perspective, Achelus gives OSNER’S FC additional flexibility across the front line. His ability to operate from either flank creates opportunities for inverted movements, isolation against opposing fullbacks, combinations in the half-spaces and positional rotations across the attacking third.

That versatility complements OSNER’S FC’s philosophy of possession, intelligent combination play, aggressive pressing and rapid attacking transitions.

EXPERIENCE THAT CAN INSPIRE THE OSNER’S FC ACADEMY

Achelus will also have an opportunity to make an impact beyond senior competition.

As OSNER’S FC continues developing its academy structure in Brooklyn, the club believes young players should have access not merely to coaching theory, but to people who have actually experienced different stages of the pathway they aspire to follow.

Achelus has lived that journey.

He left Haiti as a young footballer. He experienced an American academy environment. He moved to European football. He competed in France and Denmark. He represented Haiti internationally. He returned to Haitian football and became part of a Caribbean championship-winning team. He then competed in South America’s professional game.

Those experiences create lessons that statistics cannot capture.

“Our academy players need examples they can actually see and speak with,” Nazaire said. “Shelove can explain what it feels like to leave home, adapt to another country, compete for a position, experience setbacks and continue pursuing the game. That knowledge can be extremely powerful for a young player.”

Achelus embraces that responsibility.

“If my experience can help a young player understand what is required, I want to share it,” he said. “Talent is important, but young players also need discipline, patience, education and people who guide them correctly. If I can help someone avoid mistakes or believe more strongly in what is possible, that is something meaningful.”
