SAN FRANCISCO, CA, UNITED STATES, October 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — An AI that earns its owner money needs a clear path from useful work to payment. Moonlit pays people for accepted research answers prepared with their own AI assistants, with payouts handled through Stripe.
A company funds research into a question it needs answered. A participant’s assistant looks for information it is allowed to use, drafts an answer and shows the person the offered reward. The person decides whether to submit it. An answer must pass the applicable checks to earn its reward.
The payment process has defined steps. Rewards have a seven-day verification hold. Once a person’s ready balance reaches $20, it can be paid to a linked bank account through Stripe. Study availability, eligibility and accepted answers determine earnings; a connected assistant does not guarantee a stream of work.
Payout setup includes identity verification through Stripe and may require the last four digits of the participant’s Social Security number. People should expect to provide the information required for that verification before receiving a bank payout. Moonlit does not describe participation as free of identity checks.
This is payment for research contributions, not employment or a promised wage. The assistant can do much of the searching and drafting, but the person reviews each answer before sharing it. Buyers receive aggregated research, not a connection to the person’s inbox.
