Ontario International Airport passenger volumes surpass 4 million year-to-date; air cargo continues growing
PR Newswire
ONTARIO, Calif., Aug. 24, 2026
ONTARIO, Calif., Aug. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Ontario International Airport (ONT) served 673,413 air travelers during July as year-to-date passenger volumes surpassed 4 million.
The July passenger total, down slightly from the same month last year, included 616,247 domestic travelers and 57,166 international fliers – the latter representing an increase of 0.4%. The Southern California gateway welcomed 4,085,992 air travelers through July, 1.3% more than the same period in 2025. International travel volume grew by 36.9% to 403,385.
“Ontario International continues to demonstrate the strength and resilience of our airport and the market we serve,” said Atif Elkadi, chief executive officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority. “More than 4 million passengers have already traveled through ONT this year, and our international passenger volume is up nearly 37% at a time when international travel to the U.S. is facing significant headwinds. That kind of growth speaks to the strength of our region, the confidence our airline partners have in this market and ONT’s continued emergence as one of Southern California’s most important aviation gateways.”
