SLKY World today announced it has acquired publishing rights to Celestial Ashes by Lamana Ali, previously self-published, now reworked for release.
ORLANDO, FL, UNITED STATES, August 9, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — SLKY World has acquired exclusive global rights to The Celestial Ashes, a science fiction and fantasy novel by Rwanda-based author Lamana Ali, previously self-published to rave reviews. Set on the floating city-empire of Nur-Shahar, the novel follows Prince Zayn al-Zaryan, a poet and idealist in a dynasty of warriors, whose secret romance with a rival empire’s princess ignites a war and sends him from sheltered heir to exiled rebel to reluctant king. The novel will be re-edited and issued with a new cover by award-winning graphic artists, with publication scheduled for early 2027.
The deal was negotiated directly with the author.

Lamana Ali’s writing journey began in the Queens, New York, libraries he frequented after his family relocated from Central Africa in the early 1990s. A lifelong bibliophile, he drew early inspiration from the works of Stephen King and Dean Koontz, alongside science fiction films like 12 Monkeys and A Clockwork Orange. The seeds for The Celestial Ashes were planted at seventeen, taking nearly two decades to reach fruition. Following a career in nonprofit fundraising, Lamana now writes full-time from his home in Ghana, following up his debut with a science fiction retelling of 1001 Arabian Nights, 1001 Nights Among the Stars. He lives with his young daughter, with many more worlds already taking shape.
