Fusion Risk Management, Inc. (“Fusion”), the leading provider of enterprise resilience software, today announced it is defining and powering a new layer of the enterprise technology stack, introducing a market benchmark framework, and launching customer-proven capabilities to advance its mission of empowering organizations to make the right decisions with the right context to protect their businesses in any situation. At the center of the announcement is the Enterprise Resilience Decision System (ERDS), Fusion’s new decision layer purpose-built to answer four questions every organization must answer at decision speed when disruption hits: what is impacted, what happens next, what is the financial exposure, and what should be prioritized.

According to PwC’s Global Crisis and Resilience Survey, 70% of business leaders express confidence in their ability to recover from disruption, yet data shows most lack the foundational decision capabilities to act on that confidence when it counts. Only about a third of leaders said they use technology for scenario planning or disruption mitigation analysis, which represents a gap in operational maturity. That no longer works in today’s world, where regulators are now fully enforcing DORA and demanding real-time evidence of resilience; the UK’s PRA is shifting from documented plans to demonstrated recovery capability; AI is making the decision layer the differentiated capability; and recent cloud infrastructure events demonstrate enterprises’ system dependency exposure to companies across their ecosystems.

“Market conditions create new urgency for true enterprise resilience,” said Michael Campbell, CEO of Fusion Risk Management. “Regulators want more than recovery plans. They’re demanding proven approaches to address real-life events. Until now, there was no system to deliver on that. That’s why Fusion created the Enterprise Resilience Decision System and a new way to measure enterprise resilience. Early adopter customers are validating its power.”

Delivering the Answers, Analysis, and Assurance That Today’s Organizations Require

In its mission to advance enterprise resilience, Fusion uniquely combines three new elements:

  • The Enterprise Resilience Platform: Powered by ERDS, Fusion’s decision layer above existing systems of record — GRC and ITSM platforms among them — is built on a continuously curated service-and-dependency model that computes disruption impact at decision speed instead of reconstructing it manually under pressure.

  • The Enterprise Resilience Index (ERI): This new seven-dimension, five-stage innovation roadmap provides enterprises with a benchmarked view of their enterprise resilience standing relative to the regulatory standards now in force. ERI will be the basis of future Fusion market studies revealing and analyzing key trends in enterprise resilience.

  • Recovery Optimization and Scenario Testing: Following an early adopter program with global financial services and insurance organizations, Fusion is launching Recovery Optimization and Scenario Testing capabilities within the Decision System to the broader market.

That’s noteworthy considering growing regulatory requirements, unpredictable enterprise risk, and the fact that, as Michael Rasmussen writes: GRC solutions are “at an architectural crossroads.” The GRC 20/20 analyst goes on to explain that “the architectural foundations underpinning today’s dominant GRC solutions were designed for a world that no longer exists; and, more importantly, cannot stretch far enough to support the world we are rapidly entering.”

Fusion uniquely combines a decision layer above GRC, a benchmarked maturity framework, and capabilities already proven by global enterprises, establishing enterprise resilience as a category distinct from GRC workflow platforms. This empowers organizations to understand their disruption exposure, make context-based decisions fast when disruptions hit, and protect their critical services, operations, and revenue.

Proving the Ability to Enable Understanding and Decision-Making to Drive Impactful Action

Fusion’s early adopter program delivered insights and value that documentation-based programs cannot produce but organizations know they need. A global data and analytics firm discovered its carefully maintained recovery plans contained a 523-hour data entry error that remained undetected through years of plan maintenance. Meanwhile, a multinational insurance company discovered that 48 separate processes depended on a single third-party vendor, creating risk that had been invisible in its prior exercises.

“Scenario Testing is helping us move from discussing scenarios to understanding their real business impact and what we need to do about it,” said a senior business analyst at the insurance company. “By using real data, we can run more meaningful tabletop exercises and connect outcomes directly back to our critical operations, business continuity plans, and recovery strategies, giving us greater confidence that our tolerances are realistic.”

Fusion Risk Management Chief Product Officer Matt Tippets added: “Task scheduling is not optimization. Workflow automation is not computation. With Recovery Optimization and Scenario Testing, Fusion is bringing to market the ability to compute optimized recovery sequences and run thousands of scenario permutations against our governed service-and-dependency model – moving from annual tabletop exercises to continuous, data-driven testing at enterprise scale.”
